How to make a toasted bun from scratch

Buns are the go-to bread of the winter holidays, but you might not want to have to eat one to go to the movies.

They’re so popular that they’re also known as the best way to eat a big bag of potatoes without having to use a fork.

The trick is to make your own from scratch.

Here’s how to make toasted buns.

Start with a slice of bread.

A thick slice of white bread is best, but other types of bread can work too.

Heat some butter in a saucepan.

Add a tablespoon of salt and bring it to a boil.

Add the bread slices and let them cook until they’re brown and crispy.

Add some buns to a large bowl, cover and set aside.

When you’re ready to make the toasted sandwich, remove the bread from the saucepan and add the bacon.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat.

Add 1 tablespoon of butter and saute the onions for 5 minutes.

Add 5 more minutes.

Add 3 tablespoons of butter to the skillet and sauté the bacon for 5 more.

Add 2 tablespoons of the bacon grease to the butter.

Add about 2 tablespoons buns and cover the skillet.

Cook the toasts for 3-5 minutes.

Add salt to taste.

You can add extra salt if you like.

Add your choice of buns (you can’t have too many!) and top the toast with more bread.

Serve with some hot cider.
